Hoy se da inicio a la Eurocopa 2008, entre algunos datos la organización de la Eurocopa espera recaudar unos 1.400 millones de euros, casi 1000 millones de pesos chilenos. Entre sus grandes aspiraciones a ver esta urcopa es ver el mejor jugador de uropa de este año tras marcar más de 50 goles en la temporada, y ser cotizadopor el Real Madrid hasta en 100 millones de dólares, una gigantesca cifra. El jugador si se fuese cobraría 9.5 millones de dólares por temporada netos.
Esta nueva temporada de la Eurocopa, será la XIII edición, organizado por la UEFA.

La Eurocopa 2008 (oficialmente, Campeonato Europeo de Fútbol de la UEFA o UEFA EURO 2008™) será la XIII edición de la Eurocopa, el principal torneo entre selecciones de fútbol europeas organizado por la UEFA. Esta versión del torneo se realizará en Austria y Suiza, entre el 7 de junio y el 29 de junio de 2008, siendo la segunda oportunidad en que el torneo es organizado por dos países (la primera vez fue la Eurocopa 2000 de Bélgica y los Países Bajos) y la primera que es albergada por una de estas naciones.
La candidatura de Austria y Suiza fue proclamada por el Comité General de la UEFA, el 12 de diciembre de 2002, superando a las candidaturas de Rusia, Hungría, Bosnia y Herzegovina-Croacia, Grecia-Turquía, Escocia-Irlanda y una candidatura conjunta de Escandinavia compuesta por Dinamarca, Finlandia, Noruega y Suecia.
